Jim (Jamie) S. Luckow, age 62, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Monday June 16, 2025. He was born February 19, 1963 to the late Ronald and Rosina (Elmer) Luckow.
Jamie loved budgies (parakeets) so much that he had three of them over time. Willy was his favorite who he rescued from a pet store after he saw the movie Free Willy. Willy had the freedom of his house, landing wherever he wanted!
He enjoyed country music and some rock and roll. When Country USA came to Oshkosh, Jamie and his mom enjoyed their time there together with good friends. He even ventured one time to Rock USA to see Kid Rock!
Even after being wheelchair bound for 42 years, having countless caregivers throughout the years, he treated each one with patience and kindness. He didn’t have a mean bone in his body; he always gave an honest opinion but was careful not to hurt your feelings. Everyone needs a Jamie in their life- he is a reminder of how we should treat one another.
He is survived by his twin brother Tim Luckow and his sisters Diane Hoover, Cindy (Surindar) Singh, and June Luckow; 9 nieces and nephews as well as many great-nieces-and-nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by both parents, Ronald and Rosina Luckow and sisters Vicki Luckow and Susan Luckow.
A memorial visitation will take place at the Lake View Memorial Park chapel, 2786 Algoma Blvd. on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 11:00-11:30 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM, with the burial to follow. Immediately following the burial, there will be a celebration of life held at the Northside Bar & Grill (Luke’s Bar) 2126 Algoma Blvd.
Jamie had a big heart and a big love for life. His love for his family goes without saying. He will be missed greatly by all that knew him.
