Jon P. Swanson

Jon Swany Swanson passed away unexpectedly at his home in Oshkosh on Sunday July 31, 2016 at the age of 48. Jon was born October 18, 1967, in Neenah, Wisconsin. He graduated from Neenah High School in 1986 and went on to Fox Valley Tech to become a Diesel Mechanic Technician. Jon and Julie (Rasmussen) were married on September 10, 2005 in Ring and were married 10 years. Jon worked at SCA Tissue of Neenah-Menasha for 20 years and has been an active member of the Utica Volunteer Fire Department for the last 10 years. This year he was looking forward to taking on the challenge of being grill master at the yearly chicken bbq. Always in a good mood with a sarcastic sense of humor, Jon enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. There was never a bad time to sit on the back porch with Jazz, bird watching and drinking coffee. Jon would never say no to a good old garage session and loved spending time with his family and friends.Jon is survived by his loving wife, Julie and their four children. His stepchildren with Karen, Stephanie Lenz, Marcia Anderson, Joe Cowling, and Greg Cowling. His grandchildren Dustin Stueck, Janna Sitter, Joselyn Stueck and Jayden Mahlke, his Godson, Ben Olson, and his beloved dog, Jazz.Jon is also survived by his twelve siblings, his in-laws and all of their families. In addition, Jon is survived by countless loving, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of long-time friends. Jon is preceded in death by his parents George and Irmgard Swanson, his father-in-law Quinn Rasmussen as well as his grandparents Alfred and Martha Buehring, and Emerald and Jennie Swanson, and a sister-in-law, Stephanie Rasmussen.The funeral service will be held at 4pm on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh, WI, 54904. Pastor Jo Ann Schoblaski of Bethesda Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 1pm 4pm at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Bethesda Cemetery (834 Clairville Road, Oshkosh). Funeral arrangements are being handled by Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home. Following the services a dinner will be served at the Utica Town Hall, 1730 County Rd FF, Oshkosh, WI 54904.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Jons name.Jon was our rock and our best friend. He was our mechanic and could fix anything he was tasked with. He was our counselor and our problem solver. He was always there to listen and offer advice. He was the most loving, caring and helpful man we knew. He will forever be in our hearts. Rest peacefully Swany, We Love You.
