Joshua Charlier, age 41, went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2026.
He was born on March 4, 1985, in Neenah, WI to Steven and Connie (Marheine) Charlier.
Josh was in the homeschool group and graduated in 2004. He went on to attend Fox Valley Technical College and earned his technical diploma in diesel mechanics, which lent itself well in many positions he held.
On September 28, 2019, he married the love of his life, Emily Mauel. They were married for nearly 7 years.
Josh actively attended River Valley Church where he really flourished in his relationship with the Lord and was made stronger by the life group he was a part of like a family.
Josh had many varied and unique hobbies and interests which include camping, canoeing, fishing, searching for and catching critters (snakes and salamanders), traveling, games with friends, new adventures, nerf gun fights, trying new foods (LOVED sushi), Star Wars, Star Trek, Firefly, finding deals and bargains and living life to the fullest in every sense.
Above even these, Josh loved people and spending time with his many friends and family.
Josh had a huge heart for people. He made them feel welcome and comfortable, talking with them about anything and everything. He had a huge servant's heart and capacity for helping anyone, anytime with whatever they needed; always ready to jump in with a hug or a listening ear.
Josh is survived by his wife, Emily (Mauel) Charlier; parents, Steven and Connie (Marheine) Charlier; sister, Leah (Jonathan) Laczny; nephews, Titus and ZZ; and grandma, Elise Marheine (Grandma Honey). His in-laws, Brian and Denise Mauel, Sarah and Rob Strauss, Hannah and Collin Richter, and Josh and Lana. As well as many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and precious lifelong friends.
Josh is preceded in death by his grandpa, Vern "Poppy" Marheine; uncle, Steve Marheine, cousin; Allen Jarvi; cousin, Aric Marheine; grandpa, Gene Charlier; grandma, Virginia "Ginny" Charlier, and step-grandma, Mary Charlier.
A memorial service for Josh will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11 o'clock at River Valley Church located at 425 N. Washburn St. Oshkosh, WI 54904. A time of visitation will take place from 9am-11am at the church with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Josh's name.
Huge thank you is extended to the many people that have shared cherished memories with Josh.
