Joyce Francis Zak

Joyce F. Zak, age 88 of Oshkosh, passed away at Ascension Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was born in Milwaukee on October 14, 1935 to the late Joe and Francis Felhofer. She was united in marriage to Thomas Zak on August 21, 1954 and had four children.

Joyce was raised on a farm where her father believed in equality, and that is where Joyce learned her good work ethics. Joyce also worked in the Sturgeon Bay shipyard as a purchasing agent. Joyce finished her working career as the Head Food Supervisor at Oshkosh North High School for 26 years.

Known for her green thumb and delicious meals, Joyce touched the lives of many with her warmth and culinary skills. 

Joyce is lovingly survived by her sons, Tom (Janet) Zak, Todd (Linda) Zak, Troy (Connie) Zak, Tim (Lynn) Zak; grandchildren, Andrea, Tommy, Tyler, Tanner, Ryan, Sean, Bailey, Cody, Lyndsey and Samantha; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Rozek, Rosie Olson, and Sue Robinson; sisters-and-brothers-in-law, Sally Zak, Jim Zak, Karon (Gerald) Kita.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Zak; twin brother, Joe (Bev) Felhofer; sisters-and-brothers-in-law, Dick Rozek, Don Olson, Rod Robinson, Bill Zak and Ruth Zak.

A funeral service for Joyce will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A private interment will take place at Calvary Catholic Cemetery on Monday.

Thank you to the supporting staff at Aspire Senior Living of Oshkosh for allowing Joyce to be able to live on her own until the end. Also, thank you to the medical staff and doctors at Mercy Hospital for comforting Joyce at the end of her journey.
