Judith Marie Ziebell, who was affectionately named “Queenie” by her husband, passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on Monday, May 19, 2025 in the caring hands of Frontida Liberty House in Fond du Lac, WI. She was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on April 6, 1941 the daughter of the late Earl E. and Dagne H. (Peterson) Chase.
Judy lived her entire life in Oshkosh and she spent many summer days of her life enjoying the lake in Mt. Morris where the family cottage was. She always enjoyed big family gatherings there.
Judy married Thomas Neal Ziebell on September 21, 1963, they had been happily married for 55 years at the time of Tom’s death. They had three daughters, Julie, Susan, and Debra. While raising the girls she worked seasonally at Miles Kimball, and really enjoyed working at the Hallmark Store in Park Plaza, where she made many good friends. She was also a Crossing Guard, because she really enjoyed the children and they often gave her sweet little gifts.
Judy was a member of the Elks Ladies #292 where she was part of a few committees. She enjoyed league bowling for many years. She also loved playing the organ, she played by ear and could play anything after hearing it once. She really loved playing Christmas music, Marches and Hymns.
Judy and Tom enjoyed many trips to South Dakota and Wyoming. A few of their favorite places were The Devils Tower and Yellowstone National Park in WY, they always loved seeing the buffalo. Their absolute favorite was Deadwood, SD, where they gambled at Kevin Costner’s “Midnight Star Casino”.
Judy will always be remembered for her love of animals, especially her own pets. She often talked about how proud she was of Tom being a police officer. She always said, “He was one of the good ones.” She had a very compassionate heart and loved people with a good sense of humor. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her family and friends, but we smile knowing our parents are finally reunited. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and mother-in-law.
She is survived by her daughters: Julie Augsburger, Susan (Michael) Mosling and Debra (Thomas) Meyer; grandchildren: Evan Augsburger, Chase Mosling, Mitchell Meyer and Sarah Meyer; special friends who are like family, Jim (LuAnn) Messing. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister; Darlene E. Chase and grandson; Ethan Augsburger.
The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the gentle and compassionate care she received at Frontida Liberty House.
Per Judy’s wishes her service will be private.
