Kathleen E. Hoppe

June 29, 1953 — November 6, 2025

Oshkosh

Kathleen E. Hoppe, age 72, of Oshkosh — lovingly known as Kathy or Sam to those closest to her — passed away peacefully on the morning of November 6, 2025, surrounded by her husband, daughter, and granddaughters. Kathy faced a courageous and private five-year battle with cancer with strength, grace, and an unwavering spirit.

Born on June 29, 1953, in Oshkosh, she was the beloved daughter of Russell and Audrey Paulus. She graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1972 and went on to dedicate 38 years of her career to SNC Manufacturing. On August 24, 1973, Kathy married David Hoppe, and for 52 years, Kathy shared her life and love with her beloved husband and partner in crime. Together, they built a lifetime of memories, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

Kathy was deeply loved by her family and friends. She took immense pride in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and found her greatest joy in spending time with her loved ones.

Known for her kindness, loyalty, and compassionate heart, Kathy radiated warmth and optimism wherever she went. Her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to every gathering and touched those who had the privilege of knowing her. The Hoppe home was always filled with music, love, laughter, and the delicious aromas of Kathy’s cooking — especially her treasured family recipes.

All who knew her adored her quirky, fun sense of humor, which could brighten even the darkest of days. She cherished the annual family trips to Eagle River each fall, enjoying the beautiful colors of the season, and always looked forward to escaping the Wisconsin winters for sunny Caribbean beaches. At home, she found peace and happiness in her gardening, where her green thumb flourished. Kathy will be immensely missed beyond words and remembered forever with deep love and gratitude.

She is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Katie Hoppe and her husband Andrew Burizan; her granddaughters, Kelsie and Keira Oestreich; her brothers, Larry, Steven, and Russell; her sister, Kim; and their spouses. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Daryl Hoppe, and his spouse. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services for Kathy will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Brad Heraly, Meghan Boll, and all the compassionate staff at the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center for their exceptional care and kindness throughout Kathy’s journey.
