Keith R. Cory, age 72, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, was called home February 10, 2026, due to cancer and renal complications which led to severe heart failure.
Keith was raised in rural Pickett, Wisconsin and graduated from Ripon High School in 1971. Shortly afterwards, he moved to Bradenton, Florida, where he worked several years as foreman of the large-scale Manatee Dairy, which boasted a herd size of over 1,800 milking cows.
Upon his return, Keith settled in Oshkosh, where he was employed 35 years at Duo Safety Ladder Corporation. He also served as both president and treasurer at his local UAW union. In 2019, Keith became a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. We are deeply grateful to Pastor Andi Wolf, whose faithful ministry and compassion helped lead Keith back to the saving relationship with Christ.
Keith enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening, as well as entertaining Sue, his wife of 35 years, and their array of friends, with his baritone voice on karaoke nights at local pubs. Keith thrived at any competition; whether darts, pool, dice, jeopardy, video games, and most recently, Wordle every day.
Keith is survived by his siblings, Aaron and Kim Cory; stepson, Charles (Sharon) Schmidt; 10 grandkids, John, Summer, Lanie, Charles, Paige, Austin, Rosalee, Ava, Gavin, and Bella; two great-grandchildren, Lila and Bentley; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and one aunt.
A special bond developed between Keith and his eldest granddaughter, Summer Downs (27), who became the "glue" to hold the family dynamics together, after losing both their mom, grandma, and finally Keith's health. Summer deserves high praise and gratitude for her abundance of love and care for all she has done and all she continues to do!
Keith was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, the love of his life, his parents, Bob and Hazel; two sisters, Mary Lee and Bonnie (Barnes); stepdaughter, Wendy Baehman; and niece, Becky Jenkins.
2 Timothy 4:7 resonated with Keith as he prepared to leave this world: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith".
A memorial service will be held at 4PM on February 20, 2026, at Emmanuel at United Church of Christ (1306 Michigan St). A visitation will be held from 2:30PM until the time of service. A burial at Resthaven Cemetery will take place in the springtime and a celebration of life will be announced at a future date.
