Kenneth J. Johnson, age 65, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, WI. He was born in Berwyn, IL on January 28, 1957 to the late Stanley and Mary (Langley) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Sandra Panczak in Las Vegas, NV on March 24, 1984 and they later settled in Oshkosh with their three children.
If you ever stopped over at Ken’s house on a warm and sunny day, chances were you could find him tending to his vegetable garden, picking raspberries, or picking up the over ripened pears in his yard so the bees wouldn’t swarm his grandbabies. He would likely invite you to stay for dinner because he was planning on throwing some chicken on the grill and there was always enough for everyone. Ken was an early riser, getting up before the sun to read his bible, spend time in prayer, and enjoy his coffee was his favorite way to usher in a new day. This made getting his family up in the wee hours whenever they would leave for vacation (so there was ample time to say a prayer for safe travels) incredibly easy for him. One of Ken’s favorite places to take his family was to the most secluded campsites he could find in hopes that they would develop a deep love of nature as well as a good sense of direction. He fully believed the best way to learn was through hands-on experiences, whether that be how to ride a bike, how to change the oil in your car, he was a teacher through and through. In his free time Ken loved to hunt (one of his proudest moments being when he brought home an eleven point buck), read Louie L’Amour and Steven King novels, watch Wagon Train, play with his dog, Wooster, and spend time with his family.
Ken is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandy Johnson; his three daughters: Vanessa (Michael) Spivey, Mary (Justin) Johnson, and Robin (Andrew) Knoll; three grandchildren: Elliott, Charlotte, and Beatrix; siblings: Barbara (Ward) Carter, Robert (Marlene) Johnson, and Steven Johnson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was further preceded in death by his stillborn grandson, Dylan, and his brother, Glenn Johnson.
