Lawrence "Larry" Kinateder, age 96, passed away at Aurora Medical Center on June 25, 2025. He was born to the late Alois and Anna (Kinderman) Kinateder on August 8, 1928, in Oshkosh. Larry married Beatrice (Ceelen) Merkel in 1958, and together they had two twin daughters, Corine and Denise. Larry later married Betty (Reynolds) Siradas on October 12, 1979, and joined his family to hers with her daughters, Debra and Caryn.
Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the early 1950's. His passion has always been music. Larry was a proud member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America (S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A.) for over 60 years, and he loved singing the lead in his quartet The Fun Notes. In past years you could always hear him singing either in the halls at Simeanna III, where he lived for over 25 years, or at Edenbrook of Oshkosh, where he recently resided.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Corine Roberts and Denise (Gary) Griedl, both of Oshkosh; six grandchildren: Melissa (Scott) Burnoski, of Green Bay, Emily (Chad) Lee, of Middleton, Angela (Derek) Nelson, of Oconomowoc, Amanda (Michael Aloi) Prendergast, of Milwaukee, Aaron (Margaret) Griedl, of Whitefish Bay, & Alyson (Justin Demme) Griedl, of Elmwood Park, IL, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was further survived by his stepdaughters, Debra (Gene) Altenberg & Caryn Dahlberg, as well as his sister, Delores Moore.
A memorial service for Larry will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside (100 Lake Pointe Dr.) on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 2 p.m. A time of visitation will be held from noon until the time of service. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery with full military honours.
The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Medical Center and the Staff with Aurora Hospice for the wonderful and loving care they gave to Larry.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Larry's name.
