Leland Luewellin Burlison, passed away peacefully on July 13th, 2025. “Lee” was born in Deer River, Minnesota on November 7, 1950 to the late Doris Berg and Charles Burlison
He completed his public education, graduating in 1968 from Hill City, MN, with a high school class size of 25. On February 19th, 1970, Lee was drafted into the Army and was stationed very near the DMZ in South Korea. After completing his term in the military, Lee worked in the construction industry and worked his way through college, graduating in 1977 with degrees in Management and Accounting. More than 35 years plus was dedicated in Construction Management, spending 25 years with an Engineering firm building or rebuilding large paper making facilities and “green field” projects.
Lee and Marilyn Wallace met on July 4, 1990, and were married on September 28, 1991 in Appleton, WI. They had one child, Johnathan Lee, who died at birth. Where you see Marilyn, Lee is nearby.
Lee’s Masonic Career began in February of 1977, when he was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason. Throughout his life, Lee demonstrated unwavering dedication to the Masonic fraternity, becoming a life member of numerous Masonic bodies. Lee was a proud member of Oshkosh Lodge No. 27 and Omro Lodge No. 168, F. & A.M., and attained the distinguished honor of 33° Scottish Rite Mason. He was also involved in the York Rite Masons, Beja Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Additionally, Lee served as President of the York Rite Library & Museum, Inc.
Leland is lovingly survived by his wife, Marilyn Burlison; siblings, Lawrence (Ursula) Burlison, Lorraine Shaw, Norma (Joe Tix) McNeil, Curtiss (Lydia) Berg, Marvin (Debra) Berg, Gordon Berg, Glen Berg, Leonard (Angela) Berg and Ellen (Eric) Hill; brothers-in-law, Daniel Garrick, Russell Wallace, Terry (Cindy) Wallace and many many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and infant son, Leland was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Garrick, his parents-in-law, Colon and Marian Wallace, and his brother-in-law, Roger Wallace.
A funeral service followed by Military Honors and a Masonic service will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. Oshkosh, WI 54904 at 2:00 pm on Monday, July 28, 2025. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
Lee was always a man that strived to be a good person, always worked to be in service of others and for the world to be a better and kinder place for all. His steady presence, and the way he showed up for those he cares about will be deeply missed.
