Oshkosh

Leonard (Lenny) B. Madel, age 87, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025 at The Courtyard in Oshkosh surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Alzheimers Disease.

He was born in Oshkosh on March 21, 1938 to Joseph and Arvilla (Olson) Madel. Lenny was united in marriage to Patrica Madel on September 3, 1960 they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage before Pat passed away in 2021.

Leonard served his country in the US Army beginning in 1955 he was an MP (Military Police Officer) serving in Korea during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1958 after an injury while serving his country. Once returning home he met his future wife, Patricia (Pat) Ilk and married on September 3, 1960. He was employed at Hoffmaster for the majority of his adult life until his retirement.

Lenny was a man of his word, maybe that’s why he was so lucky at the casinos and with scratch off tickets. He would do anything for his family and lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

He will be missed by many.

Lenny is survived by his children, Paul (Veronique) and Becky Madel; two granddaughters Taylor (Dylan Lathrop) and Payton Madel. Other surviving relatives; sister-in-law Priscilla Gluth, brother-in-law, Herbert Ilk and several nieces and nephews.
