Loanne Owens-Flaig

Loanne Mae Owens-Flaig, 68 years young, passed away on October 7, 2025 surrounded by her family after a courageous fight against ovarian cancer.

Mom was born on June 21, 1957 to Elmer and Carol Owens. Graduating from Oshkosh West High School in 1975. Growing up on the family farm.

On Sept 30, 2003 she married Jon Flaig.

She worked for Winnebago County for 35 years retiring as the Highway Department’s Office Manager .

Mom had a contagious laugh, one that made you want to join in the fun. She loved going on Harley rides, a good fire and going up north. A good day was when she could be floating in her pool and the more family and friends the better. She loved going for breakfast with her ladies. She valued family most of all, she loved and bragged about her daughters’, grandkids’ and great-grandson's accomplishments to anyone who would listen. She loved playing card games whether or not Linda Miller rules were in effect.

Loanne was loved and will be missed by her husband Jon, her daughters Danielle Hohner and Arielle Janiak. Her grandchildren Kayla Stueber, Elijah Hohner, Leigha Hohner (special friend Pablo) and her great grandson Mason Nowicki. Her step children, Jon (Amanda) Flaig and Jessica Flaig. Her sisters Lynette Booth and Michelle Nelson (special friend Bill), her brother Matthew Owens and niece and god- daughter Mckenzie Nelson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Nikki Anne Janiak and her parents.

Funeral services will be October 15, 2025 at Konrad-Belhman 100 Lake Point Dr. Oshkosh, WI 54901. Visitation from 11-1 pm with service to follow. Burial and graveside blessing after at Zoar Cemetery. Luncheon to be served at LaSure’s Banquet Hall after graveside.

A special thank you to mom's hospice nurses, especially Amy Jo whom mom really grew fond of, and Kelly for taking such good care of Mom on her final journey home.
