I don’t understand why most people don’t write their own obituary. Most are written by a relative who somehow believes that the world needs to know that “Bob” liked to sit in his favorite flannel shirt while watching Packer games or that “Marge” made a fine chicken soup from scratch.

So before one of my family members decides to babble about dozens of meaningless bits of information about my life, in an effort to lengthen my obituary to an impressive size, allow me to pen just a few words on my own behalf, to minimize any potential boredom for anyone mildly interested in reading this.

Webster defines an obituary as… “A notice of a person’s death, usually with a short biographical account.” So okay…I was born in Rhinelander, WI on September 15, 1956 and died September 28, 2025 in Neenah. You can now figure out how old I was.

The major accomplishment of my life on this earth was raising two wonderful daughters, Alyssa and Diana. I’m so proud of the women they’ve become. Diana and her husband Darden have two daughters, my granddaughters, Isla and Elin. I have been blessed by them all. I have also been blessed time and time again by having the love of my life, Joel, with me for over 20 years. His steadfastness to me in sickness and in health is a testament to his unwavering loyalty and devotion. I could not have chosen anyone better.

I fully understand that this short life is but a training ground for the hereafter, and I hope by now that I have been reunited with my parents, Hans and Rosalind, along with my brother Ron. To my sister Kay (Arlen) and brother Steve (Connie) we will reunite once again in our Lord’s Kingdom and be together forever. No rush.

I have asked that there be no visitation. What’s the point of coming to look at a lovely green urn purchased on Amazon for $52.00? They really do sell everything.

Just think of me once in-a-while, fondly I hope. Until we meet again do something good for someone everyday.

See you later.
