Louis Lloyd Langhoff Jr.

Louis Lloyd Langhoff Jr. (Grandpa Lou), age 96 of Oshkosh, passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 13, 2025. He was born in Wausau to the late Louis and Viola (Grawien) Langhoff. Louis married Geraldine Lemke on July 8, 1950, and they created a wonderful life together, raising three children and sharing adventures until her passing in 2005.

Louis proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, and after his service, he dedicated many years as a superintendent at Buckstaff Company.

Faith was a cornerstone of Louis's life as he was a faithful follower of Jesus and a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. In his free time, Louis loved the great outdoors, often spending time at the family cabin in Merrill. He had a love for gardening planting almost two football fields of vegetables for family/friends. He cherished moments with family and friends, and he and Geraldine made many memories traveling together. A lifelong Green Bay Packers - Brewer fan, and the biggest supporter and fan of his grandchildren’s sports. Louis also enjoyed attending tavern sign-ins or playing sheepshead with his buddies.

He is survived by his children, Rick Langhoff, Rod (Kim) Langhoff and Lisa (Jeff) Hinn; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jim) Genz, Michael (Rebecca) Langhoff, Cody (Lauren) Hinn and Bryce Hinn; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Christian, Allie and Brooke; sisters, Shirley Borchardt and Clarice (Erv) Boehm; sisters-in-law, Florence Lemke, Judy Hass, Beverly Hintz. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Langhoff; sisters, Vernette (Milton) Kleinschmidt, Marjorie (Bill) Klammer Buffington, Isabelle (Bob) Hoff, Jean (Lawrence) Bubolz, Marion (Dick) Simon, Florence (David) Langhoff; brothers-in-law, Lavern Borchardt, Allan Lemke, Harlan Lemke, Bill Haas and Ron Hintz.

A funeral service with Military Honors for Louis will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 508 County Road M Pickett, WI 54964 officiated by Rev. Jud Krohn. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. We are forever grateful for all the years we had together and will cherish them in our hearts forever. Love you Dad/Grandpa.
