Luke Adrian Smith

Luke A. Smith, age 29, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 18th, 2016.He was born on December 7th, 1986 to Peter J & Lisa E Smith. Luke was an amazing son, an avid hunter, a faithful fireman for the Town of Utica, a loyal friend, and he loved to farm. He was employed by K & D Rivers Trucking and took great pride in adding chrome to his Peterbilt. He often said Happiness is a long nose Pete. He enjoyed working with his hands and could fix most anything. He had a passion to make things tougher and faster.Luke graduated from Omro High School and became a certified mechanic for Harley Davidson. He enjoyed hunting, sturgeon spearing, and riding his Harley in his spare time.He will be sadly missed by his parents, his sister Kelsie A. Smith, his grandparents Larry & Margaret Yoder and Dean & Ann Smith. His aunts & uncles, Glen & Julie Barthels, Lee & Ellen Yoder, Jon & Lori Potratz, Jim & Brenda Smith, Ruth & Jerry Tritt, Terry & Jill Smith, Rex Smith (Stephanie McAuly). Cousins: John & Heidi, Cora & Ella Barthels, Andy & Jenni, Natalie & Kayden Barthels, Adam & Kelsey & Ezden Barthels, Lance, Cole & Reed Yoder, Michael & Brandon Potratz, Jamie Kriz, Joshua & Tanner, Caitlin, Carley & Michael Smith, Jacob & Jared (Erica Christman) Hamilton, Ashley & Ron Wondra, Hudson Smith. He is also survived by countless friends, neighbors, the Melrose Hunt Club, and extended family. He is survived also by a loving, faithful dog, Cooper.A memorial service for Luke will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Emmanuel United Church-Christ (1306 Michigan St.) with Rev. Andi Wolf officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
