Lyle G. Gabrielson, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on June 26, 1937 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Roy and Emma (Martin) Gabrielson. He married Rogene Kliss on September 17, 1960 at Peace Lutheran Church.Lyle graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1955 and went on to graduate from U.W. Madison in 1959 with a Business Degree. Lyle served as member of the Army National Guard, specialist 5, Hq & Hq CO 2d BN 127th Infantry from 1961 and received an honorable discharge in 1965. It was during his service that Lyle started to donate blood. Lyle was the 2nd largest donor in the Fox Valley at the time. In his lifetime, Lyle donated 18 gallons touching many lives. Lyle was a Production Manager at Menasha Corp, retiring in 1997 after 38 years. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Twin City Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed singing, was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and sturgeon spearer. In 2000, Lyle and Rogene traveled to Hawaii to see Pearl Harbor which was of great interest to him. In 2001, Lyle succeeded in hunting trophy elk in Chama NM with a 6x6 bull elk. He took great pride in being a family man, being a very hard worker (having never called in sick to work). Lyle enjoyed family gatherings, monthly card club with life-long friends, boating, and time spent at the cottage. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rogene; daughter, Lorene (Sam) Wuest; son, Daren (fiance Li Song) Gabrielson; brother, Roy Bud (Barbara) Gabrielson; sisters; Lois Kaspar and Arlette (Marlin) Schmude; granddaughter, Haylee Jourdan-Gabrielson; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law Milton Kaspar. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services for Lyle will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church (240 W 9th Ave.) with Rev. John Worzala-Dumke officiating. Interment will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Peace Lutheran Church in Lyles name.A special thank you goes to Nancy Buksyk and Mary Weber for all of the wonderful care they gave to Lyle.He was a strong, patient man with a heart of gold. We will miss you very much, and we know that youll always be in our hearts Love, Rogene, Lori, Sam, Daren, LiSong and Haylee
