Lynne Suzanne, age 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 15, 2026. She was born on August 2, 1957, in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of the late Gerald and Marjeanne Saagman. Lynne graduated from Unity Christian High School in Hudsonville, MI and attended Calvin College, where she served as an assistant to the reference librarian.
On August 28, 1981, Lynne married Richard "Rick" Hopkins and then became a pastor's wife as they took a call to the Nortonville Gospel Chapel in Spring Lake, MI. Together they had two daughters, Emily and Betsy, and she worked part-time for the Spring Lake school system. In 2001, she and Rick took the call to Plymouth Church in Oshkosh WI. There she also worked in the public school system, and later at the YMCA and Mercy Hospital.
Lynne loved being physically active-whether it was walking, jogging, or working out at the YMCA. She was a voracious reader, and she was always on the lookout for her next great find at Goodwill. Most importantly, Lynne dedicated herself to being a loving mother and enjoyed every moment she spent with her daughters, Emily and Betsy. She also served faithfully in Children's Ministries at both Nortonville and Plymouth Church.
Lynne is survived by her husband, Rick; daughters, Emily (April) Hopkins-Schumacher, and Betsy (Austin) Chase; brother, Keith (Cassie) Saagman; and her nieces and nephews.
A memorial service honoring Lynne's beautiful life and spirit will be held at Plymouth Church (1325 Georgia St.) on January 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation starting at 12:00 PM that same day.
The family would like to thank the staff at Edenbrook and Eden Vista Care Facilities, the staff at the ADRC, especially Amy and Melissa, the Deaconesses of Plymouth Church, the Staff at the 20th Ave YMCA, as well as Theda Care Hospice.
