Marvin Richard Kotowski, the youngest child of Kazmerz and Bernice (Polishinski) Kotowski was born on December 1,1943, in Oshkosh. His soul found its freedom on two wheels. Marvin passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, and is now free to ride his bike once more, the wheels carrying him wherever he wishes to go, just as he always loved in life.

Marvin grew up near St. Josaphat Church and was baptized there, becoming a member of the parish. With his family’s strong spiritual beliefs, he first came to know the Catholic faith. From an early age, Marvin discovered the freedom of having his own bicycle. He loved exploring the neighborhood, venturing into new places, or even making a quick trip to the grocery store for much-needed essentials. Riding was more than transportation; it reflected his curiosity and spirit that defined him throughout his life.

Marvin was drawn to fixing things, tinkering with parts, and always wanting to repair and upgrade his bicycles. Even though living on his own had its challenges, Marvin made the best of things and embraced life on his own terms.

Marvin had a unique sense of humor that he loved sharing with his great-nieces and nephews. He was always ready with a silly story, often about cats, bringing laughter and preserving memories for years to come. Marvin was the youngest of four siblings. He shared a particularly close bond with his brother Florian from Colorado, who remained in frequent contact, visited annually, and cared about Marvin’s well-being. His sister Phyllis was a devoted caregiver, giving guidance and support in his daily life. He also appreciated time spent with his sister Marcella and brother-in-law Woody, sharing stories especially about his beloved bicycle.

Over the years, Marvin was blessed with many meaningful friendships and loving bonds with people beyond the family who cared deeply for him.

Marvin is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and one sister-in-law, Marge Kotowski.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Kazmerz and Bernice Kotowski; his sisters, Phyllis Shea and Marcella Woodland; and his brother, Florian Kotowski. He was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law, Robert Shea, and Roland Woodland who were a constant presence in his life; his beloved niece and nephew Linda Briese and Thomas Woodland.

Marvin taught us that even with only two wheels, one can travel near and far and touch many lives along the way.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Omro Care, who for many years treated Marvin with warmth and compassion, embracing him as though he were one of their own; to the compassionate nurses and the dedicated team from Heartland Hospice, who stayed by his side through difficult times. We also appreciate the social workers and staff from Oshkosh Family, Inc., for their years of dedication and support, helping ensure a meaningful farewell.
