Mary Lois Huybers

Mary Lois Huybers, age 87, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday May 11, 2024 at her residence.   She was born on August 25, 1936 in Green Bay, a daughter of Peter and Mamie (Hoffman) Geiger.

Mary Lois and former husband, Harlan Huybers, had nine children, whom they raised together.  While raising her children, Mary Lois created a hobby farm and raised many different animals. She also had several different occupations. Her favorites were working as a Head Start teacher and as a home health aide. Her most passionate hobby was bicycling. She was a member of several cycling clubs including the Lakeshore Peddlers in Manitowoc and Oshkosh Cycling Club.  She enjoyed gardening, baking, and sewing and was an amazing basket weaver. She was also a member of Emmaus Ecumenical Catholic Church. 

Survivors include her children, Andrew Huybers, Oklahoma, Catherine (Steve Hoopman) Huybers, Oshkosh, Martin Huybers, Oklahoma, Barbara Berres, Oshkosh, Jean Beneventi, Oklahoma, Joan Huybers, Oklahoma, Kris (Craig) Nowka, Alabama, Teresa (Mark) Haag, Alabama, Caroline (Gavin) Roselles, Montana. She is also survived by two siblings, Vern (Pam) Geiger and Ray (Maxine) Geiger, 25 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph, her parents and siblings, Pete Geiger, Gerry Gabres, Richard Geiger, Jack Geiger, and Emy Reis. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr., Oshkosh, with Rev. Mimi Maki officiating.   Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.  

Memorial monies will go towards a planting of a tree in mom’s name.
