Mary Louise F. Jones

October 12, 1929 — January 18, 2024

Mary Louise F. (Marohn) Jones passed away on January 18th, 2024 at the age of 94. The daughter of Emil and Lousie Marohn born on October 12th,1929 on the family farm near Fisk, Wisconsin. She attended a one room schoolhouse about 1 ½ miles one way away from home in the township of Utica walking, as her parents had no car then.

After graduating from Oshkosh High School, she became a dental assistant for John F. Mortell and Sons. Later on worked at Penneys, Tad’s Restaurant and Pickett Cannery. She enjoyed very much gardening and canned and froze her harvest. She loved to do volunteer work as well as cooking and baking. She married Thomas C. Jones on December 9th, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church in Zion, Wisconsin where she was baptized and confirmed. He preceded her in death on November 22nd,2020.

Survivors include son Thomas Jones Jr. and his children Michelle (CJ) Lee and Samuel Jones. Daughter Margaret “Marge” Jones and her family, Brian (Leonore) Bongert, Brenda (Mike) Beck and their family Brandon Beck and Autumn Beck. Bonnie (Pete) Beaumia and their family Dominick Sperberg, Audra Sperberg, Alex and Peter Beaumia, and Lacey (Lance Behling) Bonqert. Daughter Diane (Phil Paschke) Herzig her daughter Kristy. Daughter Patricia (Tim) Abraham and their sons Garrett and Grant Abraham. Sister-in-law Donna Thomas. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and her church family and of course her kitty buddy “Tippy”.

Preceding her in death are her parents Emil and Louise (Schoenian) Marohn; husband Thomas Jones; three brothers Herbert (Gert) Marohn and family Mary Jo (Alan) Clark, Robin (Pam) Marohn; Orville (Amber) Marohn and family Louis (Pat) Marohn and Dan Marohn. Allen Marohn and family Tracey (Todd) Miller and Lee Marohn. Lauralee Miller and family Adam Miller, Nathan Miller and Bethany Ziebell. Linda (Don) Merz. Dr. Norman (Martha) Marohn; Sister Yvonne (Gayle) Schumacher and children Vicky, Kevin, Darin, and Keith (Shelley) Schumacher; as well as Emily (Joshua) and Todd (Carol) Schumacher. She was further preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Betty (Jim) Hitz and her family.

She loved very much all her children and their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Cousins Carol Zeinert and family Caroline Hertzberg, Dr. Diana Malkowski, Darlene (Paul) Hopkins and family and Marilyn Ryberg. Also, church family, Pastors, nice neighbors and her kitty Tippy. Thank you Dr. Donald Brescia, Penny, and Dr. Leonard. Dr. Curtis Radford. Dr. Abusalam and all the wonderful nurses at the hospitals and offices. Also, anti-coagulation nurses who helped her reach the age of 94. The staff and residents at Bella Vista were also a wonderful addition to her family as she adored them.

Service will be held at 11 am Friday January 26th, 2024, at First English Lutheran Church 1013 Minnesota Street, Oshkosh with Rev. Jon Wills. Visitation will take place at 9am until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Nekimi Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Oshkosh Humane Society.
