Matthew D. Janssen

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Matthew D. Janssen age 35, of Mayville, on November 20, 2023, after a long battle with addiction that he unfortunately lost. He was born on March 23, 1988, to Brian Janssen and Michelle (Mader) Watke.

Matthew’s infectious laughter and witty sense of humor were a constant source of happiness for everyone around him. He was most proud of his role as a father. Matthew’s passing has left a void that can never be filled. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Matthew is survived by his mother and stepfather, Michelle and Jeff Watke; brothers: Eric (Kaila), Christopher (Savannah), and Daniel Janssen; daughter, Kylie Janssen; nieces, Amelia and Lilia; nephews, Jack and Aiden; favorite aunt, Theresa Racine; and extended family, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father Brian Janssen; grandparents: Henry and Verna Mader, James and Margaret Janssen; and cousin, Stephanie Pearson.

Private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home to assist with the expenses incurred during this difficult time.
