Merrin David Koechell went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on October 26,2025, after dealing with dementia and strokes.
Merrin was born to Alvin and Grace (Schultz) Koechell on May 4,1938 in Wautoma, WI. He attended school in Wautoma and enjoyed playing on the basketball team.
Merrin worked at Morgan Doors and Leach Company for 19 years.
He married Susan M. Wiegert on October 14, 1972, recently celebrating 53 years of marriage.
Merrin enjoyed spending time with his daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed going to car shows, tractor pulls and riding motorcycles. One of his favorite things to do was spending time at his cabin in Wautoma.
Merrin is survived by his wife Susan, daughters Wendy Jagodinski (Jeff), Kim Jones (James), grandson Matthew Hobbs (Hannah) granddaughters Heather and Amanda Sagmeister. Great grand children Mason, Halle, Arianna, Axel, Keyon, Kiara, and Brinley. He is survived by his brother Dale Koechell (Jane), sister Nancy Kroll, sisters-in-law Chris Koechell and Patti Koechell as well as other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ron and Dean Koechell and brother-in-law Richard Kroll.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 30, 2025 from 10-11am and service will follow at Konrad-Behlman funeral home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh with a lunch to follow. Private family burial at North Dakota Cemetery.
