Michael C. Fox

May 25, 1955 — Oct 8, 2026

Oshkosh

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Michael Fox who passed away quickly and unexpectedly on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Mike, well known to his family and friends as “Foxy” was born in Berlin, on May 25, 1955, to the late Edward and Helen (Hart) Fox.

Mike graduated from Berlin High School in 1973, and lettered in track and golf, but golf was his true passion. He proudly shared that he made Varsity his freshman year in high school! Mike attended Moraine Park Technical College for small engine repair, and then went on to work for the City of Berlin for his entire career in the Public Works and Street Department for over 30 years. Knowing he had his years of service in, he decided to retire at the age of 55 and did part-time lawn mowing jobs for a number of years after. In his earlier years, Mike also worked as a part-time bartender at Bucky’s and Country Inn, so everyone got to know Foxy! It didn’t matter where we were, someone always recognized him and called him out by name – Foxy!

Mike married Carrie Weiske in 1976, and together they had a son, Andrew. Mike and Carrie later divorced and Mike then married Roxann Dahnke in 1984, and together they had two children, Jake and Samantha.

While at his 40th Class Reunion, Mike ran into his old classmate, Patti Weber. They were both alone at that time and discovered they both enjoyed golf which eventually ended up being their first date a month later. They say three times is a charm, and five years later, they were married on April 29, 2018, at Peace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh. Together they enjoyed family gatherings, as well as many rounds of golf with family and friends. Mike had always hoped for that hole-in-one, and though he never got the thrill throughout his many rounds here, there is no question he has it now.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Patti, mother-in-law, Marian Weber; sons, Andrew Fox and Jake (Brianne) Fox, grandchildren, Makenzie, Blakely and Barrett; daughter, Samantha (Drake) Arne, grandchildren Carson, Maverick, Lincoln, Charlotte and Carsyn; stepsons Nick (Renata) Thoma, granddaughters, Olivia and Cecilia; Rob (Nayeli) Thoma, granddaughters, Jimena and Elizabeth Thoma, MaKaela (Cody) Murkley, and 3 great-grandchildren, Hudson, Harlow and Hayes Murkley; Stepson, Eric (Carrie) Abraham, grandson Daniel Abraham (fiancé, Mercedes). Mike is further survived by his sisters Pat Catencamp, Janice (Kent) Thompson, Kathy Filsinger, Nancy (Don) Burling and Susie (Don) Buchholz; sister-in-law, Susan Begin, as well as his “Bestie” throughout life, Keith (Kathy) Fredrick.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jim and Ed Fox, brother-in-laws, Al Catencamp and Tom Filsinger, and sister-in-law Colleen Fox.
