Monroe Eugine Rabe

Monroe Eugine Rabe Jr., 82, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2026. He was born on December 9, 1943, on his family's farm in Fond du Lac County, the oldest son of the late Monroe and Doris (Belling) Rabe. He married Mary "Sue" (Rupnick) on November 11, 1967, and was the proud father of three children and four grandchildren.

Monroe proudly served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970. He made cabinets for a living and found joy in working with his hands and making things. He had many hobbies throughout his life, such as going to flea markets, working on classic cars, stained glass, photography, and camping in the Wisconsin State Parks. He took pride in his garden and had an appreciation for nature- especially eagles and cardinals. He also loved horses throughout his life. Monroe was an avid baseball fan and knew many of the legendary players' statistics. He attended Milwaukee Braves games growing up and later attended several Milwaukee Brewer games. He was especially proud of his German heritage and cherished his trips to Germany in 2008 and Finland in 2025.

Monroe is survived by his wife, Sue Rabe; children, Renee (Jeffrey) Arbogast, James Rabe (Becky Hallman), Heidi Rabe (John Hayden); grandchildren, Kaitlynn (Pekka) Mantere, Sidney Arbogast, Wyatt Arbogast, Charlie Rabe; siblings, Jim (Sally) Rabe, Lester (Linda) Rabe, Shirley (Nelson) Hinz, and John (Pat) Rabe. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service for Monroe will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh. A time of visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until the start of the service. Burial will take place at Rosendale Cemetery.
