Myra C. Manser

February 24, 1929 — May 29, 2022

Myra C. Manser, age 93, of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Parkview Health Center.  Myra was born on February 24, 1929 to George and Adelia Challoner.  She graduated from Oshkosh High School in January 1947, attended Oshkosh Business College and then worked for Thompson and Gruenewald Law Office for five years.

Myra married William Manser on May 10, 1952 at First Presbyterian Church in Oshkosh.  The couple enjoyed 63 years together before his death in 2015.  Myra was a stay at home mom for 30 years and then worked at Fox River Marina and Anchorage Realty retiring in 2009 at the age of 80.

Myra was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oshkosh and served as Deacon, Session member and Sunday School teacher.  She also served as a Camp Fire Leader for Mary and Elizabeth.  She was an avid reader and loved jigsaw puzzles, Family Feud and Jeopardy.

Myra is survived by sons Joseph (Debbie) and Andrew (partner Jeff Rehfeldt), and daughters Mary (John) Gronlund and Elizabeth (Gregory) Manser-Payne.  She is further survived by grandchildren, Nathan (Katy) Manser, Brian (Melissa) Buss, Daniel Payne (Fonzy Munoz), Ryker Payne, Paul Payne, and Taylor Payne.  Great grandchildren, Bethany Buss, Eliza Manser, and William Manser. Also survived by niece, Laura (Bill) Challoner-Hue, nephews George Challoner and Jim Pommerening, cousins Denice Olsen and Ruth Henschel. 

She was preceded in death by brothers John and George Challoner, and sisters Helen Challoner and Mary Ann Pommerening, sister-in-law Faye Challoner, brother-in-law Ivan Pommerening and nephew, Jack Pommerening.

A funeral service for Myra will be held on Thursday, June 16th at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home at 402 Waugoo Avenue, Oshkosh with Pastor Deb Swets officiating.  Visitation will be 11 am to 12 pm with service at 12 pm. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park. 

The family would like to thank the staff at Valley VNA Senior Care and the staff at Parkview Health Center for their loving care of our mom.
