Nolan L. Birkenkamp, age 78, of Omro, Wisconsin, passed away at his home surrounded by family.

Nolan was born on January 18, 1947, son of the late Amos and Ida (Cincinelli) Birkenkamp, in Chicago, IL. He graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago and went on to serve in the US Air Force for four years where he served in the Vietnam War. Following his service he became a dental technician. He married the love of his life, Diane Hendzel on July 24, 1971 in Chicago, IL. Nolan and Diane moved to Omro, Wisconsin in 2014.

Nolan could walk into any room full of strangers and leave with new lifelong friends. He was an avid outdoorsman. His passion for hunting was evident and his obsession for fishing was even more so. Nolan was an avid Chicago Bears and White Sox fan. He adored his grandchildren and time spent with family.

Nolan is survived by his wife, Diane Birkenkamp; sons, David (Samantha) Birkenkamp and Jim (Tracy) Birkenkamp; grandchildren, Evan, Claire, Isaac, and Milo Birkenkamp; sisters, Pat (Earl) Thomas and Janine (Al) Hayashi; and his special cruising buddies, Dolores and the late Frank Cavalluzzi; his childhood best friend, Ken Harvanek; as well as many nieces, nephews, and fishing buddies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Ida Birkenkamp.

Per Nolan’s wishes no formal services will be held.
