Obituary for James Sutton Tangye

James S. Tangye, age 95, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Bethel Home with family by his side. He was born on September 24, 1922, in Milwaukee to James P. and Edna (Sutton) Tangye. He married Patricia E. Price on January 8, 1944. She preceded him in death on July 7, 1987. He remarried to Shirley A. Pownell on May 2, 1988. She preceded him in death on December 23, 2015.
Jim graduated Oshkosh high school and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Jim was a brick layer in the union for fifteen years. He worked as a salesman for Badger Mill and Block Iron Supply for forty years. He was a professional drummer with the Johnny Nugent Band during the 40’s and 50’s and the Fire House Four until the age 87. He was also an avid duck and deer hunter.
He is survived by his daughter: Pam (William) Mitchell; son: James P. Tangye; step daughters: Cynthia (David) Monroe, Pamela (Alan) Cason and Christine (Steven) Gust; step sons: Michael (Patricia), Thomas (Susan), John (Jeongae) and Jeff Bruski; seven grand children; and eight great grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Patricia; and second wife: Shirley; daughter: Terri; and granddaughter: Traci.
A memorial service for Jim will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Lake View Memorial Park (2786 Algoma Blvd.) Visitation will be held at the Lake View Chapel from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
