Obituary for Theodore L Sultze

Theodore Sultze, 90, passed peacefully from this world into the next with three of his 4 surviving sons lovingly by his side in his home in Oshkosh on February 8, 2018. He was born January 19, 1928 in Plainfield Wisconsin to Fred and Lucille Sultze. Theodore proudly served our country in the Air Force and received medals of Honor for that service. Dad loved to travel, especially with his favorite copilot by his side, Mom. They would drive all over the nation. We are certain they are in the best car with the music on driving the best roads together. Dad also loved to hunt and fish. Each and every boy, grandchildren included, honed their car mechanical skills with Dad patiently teaching them the inner workings of how cars are built and how they ran. He could take a car engine apart and put it back together blind folded, and made sure his boys could do the same. Dad loved Bingo, and when he wasn’t playing, he was working the bingo hall checking cards. He was a devout Catholic. He loved his children and rarely, if ever…especially in his later years… did we leave the house without a kiss goodbye. He was gentle, and kind…but stern. Most of all we know he loved us, and we never doubted his love for our mother. Though we are saddened by our loss, we are grateful that he is with his sweetie now, where he belongs.
Besides his parents, Ted is preceded in death by his beloved wife Catherine, his son Daniel, one brother: Fritz and his sisters: Maude Ida, June and Winnie. He was also preceded in death by numerous in laws, nieces and nephews.
Ted is lovingly survived by his children: daughter, Kathryn (Roger) Helke; sons, Thomas Sultze, Randall Sultze, Robert (Molly) Sultze and Leonard Sultze; (adopted) daughter Kathy (Mike) Levenhagen. He is further survived by 23 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
A Rosary service will be held for Ted at 6PM on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home West (100 Lake Pointe Dr). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, February 16, 2018 at St Jude the Apostle Parish: Sacred Heart Site (519 Knapp St). A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 until the time of the Rosary service and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. Donations can be made on Konrad Belman’s website.
