Olga M. Murphy

Olga M. Murphy, age 95, passed away on July 31, 2015, at Eden Meadows. She was born on March 8, 1920 to Ole and Laura Jansen in Tjme, Norway. Olga married Robert Stopinski on Dec.13, 1940, he preceded her in death on March 3, 1963. Then on July 16, 1966, Olga married Ralph Murphy who preceded her in death on March 22, 1989.Olga received her bachelors degree from UW- Oshkosh; afterwards she became a teacher at the Neilsville public school, teaching German and English. Olga was a member at First English Lutheran Church where she was a member of their choir. She was also a member of The Sons of Norway.In addition to her husbands, Olga was also preceded in death by her sons, Robert Stopinski Jr. and Jord Stopinski; daughter-in-laws, Sharon and Cynthia Stopinski; and brothers, Jens Johansen and Sydney Jansen. Olga is survived by her son, Hans Peter (Linda) Stopinski of Wascott, WI, daughter, Ragnhild Roni (Arthur) Loos of Oshkosh; brother, Agnar Johansen of Norway; grandchildren, Scott Stopinski, Richard(Heather) Stopinski, Robert Stopinski III, Kristie Champlin, Matthew(Laura) Loos, Michael(Jenna) Loos, Martyn(Jessica) Loos; and 12 great- grandchildren.Services for Olga will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at First English Lutheran Church, Rev. Tim Greenwald and Rev. Marty Ruge officiating. Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh.
