Oscar John Wolfgram

October 10, 1926 — November 7, 2014

Oscar John Wolfgram, 88, of Oshkosh, died November 7, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center. He was born October 10, 1926, the son of Charlie and Eva (Schultz) Wolfgram. Oscar married Marceline Rose on June 7, 1947.Oscar was a World War II Veteran serving in the US Navy in the pacific theater. He retired from Rockwell after 30 years and family often joked he was retired longer than he worked, so he only counted as a part-time worker. For several years he owned and operated Mineral Spring Water Company. Oscar and Marcy always opened their home to relatives and foster children who needed a place to stay. Their 13 room home on Jackson was always full. Oscar was an avid hunter and fisherman, always with his best friend Orville Krause going to the shack in Eagle River, WI. Oscar took a lot of pride in his garden, flowers and orchard. There wasnt anything he couldnt grow or fix. Many friends, neighbors and relatives often turned to Oscar for his wisdom or help. Oscar was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and was very active in his younger years. He lived a very fulfilling life, doing so many things from flying, gunsmithing, woodworking, cutting his own firewood, changing his own car oil, square dancing, snowmobling, fly tieing, trap shooting, motorcycling across the country and traveling with friends. He found great satisfaction for the last 3 years volunteering at the Lutheran Food Pantry. Oscar was a husband, father, mentor and friend. Slow to anger always willing to help. He was a good listener with a unique way of helping solve a problem. A Real Gentleman.Oscar is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marcy; two sons, William (Doris) Wolfgram, and Robert (Denise) Wolfgram; he helped raise, Billy (Kathy) Wolfgram; brother, Richard (Beatrice) Wolfgram; brother-in-law, Jim (Ginny) Rose; sister-in-law, Pauline Kleveno; 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Wolfgram; in-laws, Robert and June Matsche; also preceded by, William and Freda Hellwig, Lyle Rose, Arthur Kleveno and Marceda Wright.Funeral services for Oscar will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Friends and family may visit at the church from 9:00 am until time of service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.As much as Oscar loved flowers, he requested that any memorials be donated to the Lutheran Food Pantry.
