Philip, lovingly known as “Ip” to family and friends, passed away peacefully in his home on May 27th, 2026. He was born on May 31, 1960, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to Guy Philip and Mary Ann (Jodarski) Grundy.
A 1978 graduate of Oshkosh North High School, he continued his education at Fox Valley Technical College and earned an associate's degree in Agricultural Business. This knowledge helped him become a respected fifth-generation farmer, which was one of his life’s passions and pride, carrying on his family’s legacy at Grundy Farms Incorporated. His protective nature was showcased for more than 45 years as a dedicated volunteer firefighter, where he served as Chief for 13 years, Assistant Chief for two years, and for numerous years as a Captain, faithfully devoted to the Town of Oshkosh community.
Philip met the love of his life, Tuesday, in 1989 and were later married on November 7, 1998. Together, they became a family with his step-daughter, Marissa, followed soon after by two sons, Brandyn and Jamisen. For the past 27 years, Philip and Tuesday were wholly devoted to each other. As their favorite song says, “I’ll meet you when my chores are through, I don’t know how long I’ll be…Until I see you again, I’ll be loving you.”
Philip had the work ethic of an ox, steadfast, patient, and persistent, never stopping until the job was done correctly. He will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor, which kept everyone on their toes, and for the wry half-smile on his face. He was most at home with his hands in the soil on the family farm, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and reading murder thrillers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tuesday (Brearley) Grundy, daughter Marissa (Chris) Kiefer, son Brandyn Grundy, mother-in-law Jennice Brearley, close family Skip (Ellen) Pipkorn, Jack La Fontaine, Todd (Jody) Devens, and childhood best friend Greg (Deb) Olson, and many loved family and friends.
He will be joyously met at the pearly gates by his youngest son, Jamisen Grundy. He is also preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, sisters, aunts, and uncles.
A visitation to honor Philip’s life will be held at Sunnyview Christian Church, 175 E. County Road Y, Oshkosh WI, 54901, on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to attend a second visitation on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon. A memorial service will begin at 12 noon, with a luncheon immediately following. A private burial will take place afterward for family.
Philip will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who’s lives were touched by his kindness, love, and friendship. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
