Phyllis Schilling

Phyllis A. Schilling, age 91 of Oshkosh, passed away at American Grand Assisted Living Suites on September 18, 2026. She was born in Oshkosh on December 16, 1934 to the late Robert and Vilah Steineke.

Phyllis was married to the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Schilling, on June 23, 1956, and together they raised two wonderful daughters. Phyllis dedicated several years to working at Oshkosh National Bank before embarking on a 25-year journey with Kmart, where she eventually retired.

Phyllis had a true love for gardening; her flower beds were the pride of her home, and she cherished attending the Oshkosh Garden Walk every year. She treasured her family and friends, always making time for those she loved. A devoted member of First United Methodist Church, Phyllis also found joy in crafting and frequently attended art fairs, showcasing her talents, especially her intricate handmade dollhouses. She also had a collection of miniature frogs as well as a love for birds.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Linda (Randy) Brown; granddaughter, Amanda Hawley.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Schilling; daughter, Dianna (Jeffrey) Hawley; siblings, Dixie Miller, Doug (Pat) Steineke and Harold Steineke.

A funeral service for Phyllis will be held at Lake View Memorial Park chapel- 2786 Algoma Blvd. Oshkosh, WI 54901 on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will take place in the chapel from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will take place following the service.
