Richard "Dick" Charles Boettner, age 75, passed away peacefully at Ascension Mercy Medical Center on Sunday, June 1, 2025. He was born to the late Roy and Dorothy (Neumann) Boettner in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, on July 12, 1949.
Dick married the love of his life, Kathleen Keefe, on August 10, 1975, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Oshkosh. Together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to family.
Dick attended Merrill Elementary and Oshkosh High School, graduating in 1968. He went on to earn a degree in electronics from Fox Valley Technical College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He served honorably in Vietnam and was later stationed at Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Michigan until 1974.
Following his service, Dick worked at Page Electric in Berlin, Wisconsin. After marrying Kathy, the couple moved to Greendale, where Dick began a long and fulfilling career at GE Medical Systems.
Dick was a man of quiet integrity, steady presence, and gentle humor. He served as a dedicated Boy Scout leader in the Potawatomi Council, was a proud member of American Legion Post 399 (Okauchee) and Post 234 (Omro), and found great joy in time spent with his grandchildren. Whether fixing things around the house, enjoying family moments, or cheering on the Packers, Dick's calm wisdom and warmth left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; and his three sons: Ryan T. (Michelle Brinkman) Boettner, Michael Jon (Jessica) Boettner, and Timothy C. (Morgann) Boettner. Dick was a proud and loving grandfather to Porter R. Boettner, McKinley K. Boettner, Madison J. Boettner, and Madelynn J. Boettner.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Boettner-Kiser.
A funeral service will be held at First English Lutheran Church (1013 Minnesota St., Oshkosh) on Monday, June 9, 2025, at noon, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Park at 2:30PM.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Ascension Mercy for their compassionate care.
