Richard F. Dillman, age 58, fell into the arms of our Lord and Savior while at home surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, October 25, 2014 after a two and half year battle with cancer. He truly felt the Lord carrying him the whole time. Rick was born in Oshkosh on November 16, 1955 to Richard F. Dillman and Emma L. Hammond. He married the love of his life, Susan Stenerson, on January 11, 1975.He was a devoted and caring, husband, father, brother, and friend. Rick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sue, and their four children. He was so proud of his daughters: Lisa (Zouhair) Dillman-Echchykry, Jillian (JR) Rahmlow, Danielle Dillman, and his son, Richard L. Dillman. Rick is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Judith (David) Stadtmueller, Sharon Velie, Bruce Dillman, Daniel (Sarah) Dillman, Brian Dillman, Dawn (Corey) Dobbs, and Bob (Patty) Dillman. He is further survived by his brother-in-law Al (Kay) Stenerson, and sister-in-laws, Barb (Greg) Postl, Carol (Jeff) Foust, and Wendy Stenerson, Stepmother-in-law, Lorraine Sterneson and her daughter, Kim Sitzberger. He also blended Shawn and Dawn Balsitis along with their daughters, Alisha and Jessica, into his family. He received so much joy seeing his grandchildren, Dillon and Brooke Rahmlow, Ahmed and Ayah Echchykry and one yet on the way, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.Rick met so many dear friends that became like family from his childhood neighborhood, through high school, working at Leach Co., and the National Guard. Rick retired from the Army after 23 years w/Company C 2-127 32nd brigade, 7 years infantry, and 15 years AGR recruiting. He went back to school at the Fox Valley Technical College while working at Argus Technical Services. He also worked as an independent contractor for Northwire. Then he was given the opportunity to work for Bemis Co., and there, he worked with the finest group of people who supported him throughout his illness with cancer. Thank you! He will really miss all of you! He takes with him great memories of being outdoors, hunting, camping, golfing, playing cribbage, and Sheepshead. He loved bowling, foosball, playing softball for Chief Tree Service, Mr. Biggs, and Evil Roy Slades. Rick also enjoyed the many friends he made as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served on the Board of Properties and as an usher. Rick had a personality that you were drawn to, and he could always make you smile, whether he was getting the whole crowd singing along to Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash or by proudly displaying who the strikeout president was on his Special K softball sign. Rick also never missed a packer game or any moments to lovingly embarrass his children. WOO!!!WOO!!!WOO!!!So if you picture yourself knowing Rick through any of these memories, he wanted to thank you for being his friend.
