Richard “Dick” L. Madsen, age 82 of Oshkosh, passed away on February 23, 2026 at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was born in Menominee, MI on September 15, 1943 to the late Lawrence and Ann (O’Brien) Madsen. Dick was united in marriage to Kay Malmstadt on November 24, 1962 and together raised two sons.
Dick dedicated many years to his career as a route delivery driver for Canteen. In his earlier years, he found joy in the camaraderie of golfing and bowling, activities that enriched his community ties. Family camping trips held a special place in his heart, as they fostered cherished memories under the stars. A true lover of the open road, Dick found great joy in motorcycling, owning several Honda Gold Wings throughout his life, which he and Kay used to explore the beauty of the country together. In more recent years, he discovered a passion for woodworking, creating pieces that reflected his creativity and skill.
Richard is survived by his children, Rick (Sherry) Madsen and Scott (Amy) Madsen; grandchildren, Joshua (Bri), Christie (Alex), Kyle, Nicholas, McKenzie (Grant); great-grandchildren, Hannah, Haleigh, Hayden, Runa and Carter; sister-in-law, Donna Madsen; brother-in-law, Roger Lahay.
In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Madsen; brother, Thomas Madsen; sister, Judy Lahay.
Per Richard’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
