Richard Cecil Tellekson, age 99, of Ripon, WI, was called home to his Savior on June 4, 2026, at The Courtyard of Oshkosh Assisted Living, which was his home for the last eight years.
He was born on March 31, 1927, in Watertown, South Dakota, the son of Theodore and Ruth (Buchholz) Tellekson Sr. He graduated from high school in Oshkosh in 1949 and Spencerian College in Milwaukee, WI, with an accounting degree. He was an accountant for various companies, which led him to open his own local tax accounting practice in Ripon.
Richard was never married, which was one of the reasons he gave for his long life, but he was always there for his nieces and nephews. Their special moments and accomplishments were also his. Faith was very important to him, and he was a long-time member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon, where he also did their accounting for many years.
Richard enjoyed the simple life. His favorite place was the tree farm he owned in Wautoma with his brother, Merle. His favorite time of year was Father’s Day, even though he never was one, because it meant a gathering of the family for food and games at the tree farm. He also enjoyed running, which he did until he was 92 years old. Richard loved watching football, it didn’t have to be the Packers, but they were his favorite.
Richard will be missed by his nephews, Jim (Deb) Tellekson and Robert Ashworth; Nieces, Ruth (Chris) Fonville and Ann Nepstad.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Theodore Jr. (Elaine), Merle (Mary), twin brother Robert (Betty), Margaret (Edwin) and Jean (William), along with Nieces and nephews, Terri, Beth, Mike and Mark.
A memorial service will take place on June 16, 2026, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home Eastside (402 Waugoo Ave, Oshkosh, WI). The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM.
A special thank you to The Courtyard and Moments Hospice for all the love and support given to Richard and his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Messiah Lutheran Church in Ripon.
