Roger Eli Meshberger Jr.

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, the soul of Roger Meshberger Jr. drifted peacefully to Heaven. He was born in Bern, Indiana on March 19, 1939, to the late Roger Meshberger Sr. and Genevieve (Light) Meshberger. 

Roger wore many hats throughout his working life. Roger proudly served his country as a Military Police Officer, helped run the family business of Meshberger Stone, sold boats and managed rock and roll bands in Sarasota, back to Indiana to own a couple antique stores, managed a ski lodge and completed his career back in Sarasota as owner of Natures Design Landscaping for 35 years. 

Apart from his professional achievements, Roger was a passionate supporter of veterans groups and charities, always lending a helping hand to those in need. His interests in gun and knife shows were more than just a hobby but a testament to his appreciation for craftsmanship and precision. He was a proud member of the NRA.

Roger could be at home in the mountains of Wyoming and Montana, loved the hills of Brown County Indiana, the beaches of Sarasota and the beautiful north woods of Wisconsin. Roger grew up in Nashville Indiana, but lived his life between Nashville and Sarasota Florida. The last five years of his life, he moved to Wisconsin to live with his daughter Michele and her family.

 A man of many loves and interests, Roger always found joy in the company of beautiful women, marrying several throughout his life. He valued family above all else and was deeply grateful for the love and support they provided him.

Roger lived his life to the fullest... Making each moment count and with no regrets. He loved hard, worked hard and played hard. He valued the importance of connection and never met a stranger, always greeting everyone with a warm smile. Roger's presence was unforgettable, often seen wearing his signature cowboy hats, boots, beautifully designed Native American jewelry, and ever-famous sunglasses. His legacy of hard work and resilience lives on through his children.

Roger is survived by three siblings… Brother, Harry Meshberger- Wife Sandy, Sister Triana Adlon, and Brother, Kurt Meshberger-Wife Diana. Roger was blessed with four children- Daughter, Lori Mondello- Wife Stefanie, Daughter Michele Lynn-Husband Craig, Daughter, Judy Masson Husband Robert and Son, Dustin Meshberger- Wife Lindsey. Roger had seven grandchildren, Heather Lowry, Bryce Lynn, Collin Lynn, Cory Lynn, Ella Meshberger, Calvin Bunch and Silas Masson and six great grandchildren – Cayson and Clara Lynn, Asher, Malia and Ollie Bunch and Willow Graf. He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Heather Lowry.

Per Roger’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In his last couple of years, Roger was very appreciative of the care that he received from Bobbi-Jo and “his girls” at Lakepoint Villa Assisted living as well as Tammy from Aseracare Hospice. Thank you to the staff and residents at Lakepoint Villa for becoming a second family to Roger.

Roger took that last breath but in doing so, I know that his soul is soaring high above.. like an eagle.. being able to travel and roam wherever he wants and when. He had a laugh that you would never forget, a snore that could shake the roof, and he always had a story to tell. He loved cheeseburgers (rare), a good bloody mary, hot sauce, jack and coke, strawberry milk shakes, pretty women, puppy dogs and his family… Daddy, you will live on forever in all of our hearts and I know when I look to the sky and see that eagle soaring free and proud… it’s you… watching over all of us and living your life just how you want. Love you forever and endlessly… forever in our hearts… rest in peace
