Ronald D. Hansche, age 88, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at his residence on January 9, 2026. Born in Racine, Wisconsin, on February 1, 1937, he was the beloved son of the late Milton and Hazel Hansche. Ron is survived by his cherished wife, Lillian “Lil” Grube, to whom he was united in marriage for 65 wonderful years, and their two loving children, Scott (Patty) Hansche and Rhea (William Winn) Hansche.
Ron dedicated his life to the field of architecture, where his remarkable eye for design made a lasting impact. An avid gardener, he found joy and fulfillment in nurturing plants, particularly his exquisite collection of bonsai trees. He also held a deep appreciation for Door County, where he took great pleasure in experiencing and supporting the arts.
Civic-minded and community-oriented, Ron was a cornerstone of the Stevens Park Neighborhood Association. He served on the Winnebago County Board of Supervisors and was a devoted member of Bethany United Church of Christ, as well as many professional associations. His passion for service enriched the lives of those around him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lil Hansche; children, Scott (Patty) Hansche and Rhea (William Winn) Hansche; grandchildren, Lauren (Matthew) Collegeman, Alex (Allison) Hansche, Micaela Hansche and Katherine (Jordan) Block; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Ella, Lachlan, Aila and Arthur.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Hansche (surviving wife Sandi), and his brother-in-law, Ed Grube.
A memorial service for Ron will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 761 Forida Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54902 on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 5:30pm. The visitation will be held at the church from 3:30pm until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Oshkosh Healthy Neighborhoods, designated for Stevens Park Neighborhood Association.
