Ronald S. Nigl, age 83, passed away on April 25, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Oshkosh on May 2, 1940, to the late Rudy and Josephine (Kalous) Nigl. Ron married Nancy (Schoenberger) on May 21, 1966.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of 57 years, and their two sons, Tom (Penny) Nigl and Chad (Lisa) Nigl. He was a beloved grandfather to Jon (Lamiesa) Nigl, Carrie (Jacob) Heath, Molly Kalous, Grace and Claire Nigl, and great-grandfather to Michael Nigl and Adeline Heath. Ron is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Ralph and MaryBeth, sister-in-law Suzanne Zblewski, brother and sister-in-law Larry and Phyliss Schoenberger, and brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Christine Schoenberger, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Josephine Nigl, his in-laws William and Martha Biebl, his brother and sister-in-law Rudy and Jeanne Nigl, his brother and

Throughout his life, Ron held various occupations, including positions at UWO-Athletic Department, Oshkosh Area School District Maintenance Department, and as the owner of Rudy's Shoe Rebuilders. Ron's passions included traveling the country with Nancy and friends, golfing, fishing, hunting, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He cherished moments spent with Nancy, family, and friends, particularly their dear friends Kempingers, Werners, Webers, and Renners.

Known for his outgoing personality, Ron had a vast circle of friends. Whether playing cards, cribbage, or sharing stories, he brought laughter and camaraderie wherever he went. His zest for life, storytelling skills, and infectious laughter will be remembered by all who knew him, especially his Thursday night poker club of 56 years and the cribbage crew at TNT Tap.

In keeping with his wishes, a private funeral service will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes, with Deacon Brad Gallenberg officiating. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oshkosh. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Ron's name at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, Oshkosh.

Ron's family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Mercy Medical Hospital, Oshkosh, and St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Appleton, for their compassionate care.
