Ronald L. Poublon

December 31, 1938 — December 26, 2025

Ron Poublon, 86, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family after an 8 month battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, on December 31, 1938, to George and Martha (Verbrugge) Poublon, Ron lived a life full of kindness, laughter, and devotion to those he loved.

Ron grew up in rural Nebraska where he worked hard on his family’s farm. After graduating from Creighton University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, Ron moved to Oshkosh WI where he built a long and respected career as a pharmacist with Osco Drug and later Walgreens. His dedication and integrity earned him the admiration of the families he served and colleagues alike.

Ron married Lillian Kolln in 1959, and together they raised two children, Randy (Janice) Poublon and Jill LeMay of Oshkosh, WI. Ron was a proud grandfather to Justin Poublon, Tim (Joanna) Herro, Alyssa (Dakota) Zarling, and Aaron LeMay.

In 1986, Ron found love again with Marjorie Franz, with whom he shared a devoted marriage of 39 years. Through their union, Ron embraced a blended family, gaining four stepchildren: Constance Franz, Gerald (Lisa) Franz, Cathleen (Jeff) Schmidt, and Jennifer (Doug) Turner. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Ron was a great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren who brought endless joy to his life.

After retiring to Sun City Center, Florida, in 2003, Ron embraced the sunshine and the slower pace of life. He found joy in travel, golfing, gardening, cheering on his beloved Packers, attending church, and spending time with family and friends. Ron had a gift for making people feel welcome—his positive spirit and sense of humor never wavered, even in his final days.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents George and Martha Poublon, Sister Elaine (Glenn) Hunacek, step sisters Madeline (Harry) Egolf, and Madeline (Edward) Pechar, step bother George Abrams, and step daughter Constance Franz.

Ron was a very warm person, loved life deeply and was quickly liked by everyone he met. He will be dearly missed however his smile, kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering optimism will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh, WI. A celebration of life will be held for Ron at a future date.
