Russell D. Beck, age 96 of Oshkosh, WI passed away on October 19, 2025, at ThedaCare Hospital in Neenah, WI.
Russell was born on April 29,1929, to the late Louis and Jennifer (Loker) Beck in Oshkosh. He graduated from Oshkosh High School and went to Oshkosh Business School. After college Russell worked for Olson Transport Company as a rate and billing clerk. In February of 1951 he was drafted into the Army and served proudly for two years. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal in February of 1953. After his military service Russell was offered a job with Rosendale State Bank which launched him on a long banking career until his retirement.
Russell enjoyed being involved with the Lakeshore Kiwanis Club, the Lakeshore and Pickett Lions Clubs, the Masonic Temple, and the Winnebago Shrine Club.
He married Lorraine McMillion on August 13, 1955, in Antigo WI. They raised four children together. Russell and Lorraine traveled in his retirement, and he enjoyed the many trips they were able to take together. He enjoyed going to and supporting all his grandchildren's many interests and activities. Russell also enjoyed going antiquing along with attending both household and animal auctions with family members.
Russell is survived by his sons, Linn (Chelley) Beck, Terrance (Carol) Beck, and Lawrence (Michelle) Beck; grandchildren, Angela Schmunk, Craig (Katie) Beck, Chad Beck, TJ (Carley) Beck, Zachary (Aalyha) Beck, Amanda (Special Friend Henry Kind) Beck, and Annie Beck; Great Grandchildren, Ryan Beck, Addison Beck, Colton Beck, and Trey Beck; he is also survived by a brother, Armond Beck; sister-in-law, Ruth McMillion; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorraine Beck; daughter, Vickie Schmunk; son-in-law, Richard (Rick) Schmunk; brothers and their wives, Bud (Phyllis) Beck, Lyle (Mae) Beck, Earl (Betty) Beck, Howard (Jane) Beck and Wayne (Jeanne) Beck; and Brother-in-law, Art McMillion; sisters and their husbands, Arlene (Mike) Sawall and Thelma (Romie) Schmitz; sister-in-law's, Marion Beck and Hazel (Roger) Lindell; and great grandchild, Arabella Victoria Schmunk.
Russell will be missed dearly by his family and friends. We love you.
A memorial service will be held on Friday November 7, 2025, at 6:00 PM, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home - Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh, WI. The time of visitation will begin at 4:00 PM and continue until the start of the service. Interment will take place at Ellenwood Cemetery on a later date.
