Oshkosh

Sarah A. Chamberlain, age 87, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed peacefully from this life on January 27, 2026, at Lake Shore Manor. Born on October 21, 1938, in Wheeling, West Virginia, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary (Lawfield) Chamberlain.

Sarah’s life was a testament to her passion for education and her dedication to nurturing young minds. She earned her Master of Education from Eastern Michigan University and began her teaching career in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. However, her heart found a home in special education at the Washtenaw Intermediate School District in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she devoted her career to supporting students with disabilities in overcoming challenges and achieving their potential. Later in her career, she worked for the district assisting families with children who were deaf or hard of hearing. She found this time very rewarding as she taught the whole family sign language. She would work with the children from birth to age five.

Beyond her teaching, Sarah was a free spirit who loved to travel, camp, sew, and cultivate beautiful gardens filled with flowers and herbs. Her strength and independence were an inspiration to her family and friends, and nothing brought her more joy than spending quality time with her loved ones and family.

Sarah is survived by her four children: Matthew (Pamela) Stewart-Fulton, David (Sara) Fulton, Thomas (Samantha) Fulton, and Katie (Valentino) Fulton, along with her grandchildren—Stephanie, Timothy, Micah, Kailey, Logan, Celia, Madelynn, Lydia, Carson, Connor, Savannah, Sam, Sophia, Frank, Anthony, Julian and Ezra—and her great-grandchildren: Dexter, Liam, Cohen, Adrian, Elena, Mariana, Lennon, Vivian, Claire, and Evelyn.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: Lawrence (Gail) Chamberlain, Wesley (Carol) Chamberlain, and John Chamberlain, and her former husband and friend C. Wayne Fulton. All of whom will surely be welcoming her with open arms.

A private celebration of life will be held in the future. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Lake Shore Manor for their exceptional care during Sarah's time there.
