Scott Louis Spiller, aged 72, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024 surrounded by his family and loved ones at his home in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on March 3, 1951 in Wood River, IL to the late Leo and Patricia (Moroni) Spiller.

Scott graduated from Roxana High School, received his BA majoring in Political Science from Principia College in Elsah, IL and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Scott began his esteemed career in private practice and then transitioned to corporate law at Winchester Corporation in East Alton, IL. Scott then found his permanent “work home” at Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon, WI where he served for 30 years before retiring in 2016. He was proud to hold the titles of Chief Legal Officer, VP of Human Resources and Corporate Secretary.

Scott volunteered and served many causes near to his heart through the years including serving as a member of the Boy Scouts Piasa Bird Council Board and as the Bay-Lakes Council Commissioner for several years. He also served on the Principia Committee of 70 and the Board of Trustees for Ripon College. Scott coached youth football and basketball and loved the time spent with his children and helping others.

Scott was a devout Christian Scientist and a loving father. He found joy and fulfillment in sharing his life experiences and guiding others toward their goals. His strong, confident, kind and strategic nature allowed him to connect with people, making him a cherished friend and mentor. Scott is survived by his precious children: Michael Spiller and Lauren Spiller; sister Susan Mayes; niece and nephew Brittany Mayes and Colton Mayes and numerous other loved ones.

A Celebration of Life to honor his memory will be held on June 8, 2024 at The Waters in Oshkosh. Feel free to stop by anytime between 2:00-5:00 pm. This will allow all who knew him the opportunity to come together, share stories, and find comfort in one another’s company! In lieu of flowers, Scott’s family is requesting donations be made to the Boy Scouts (Bay-Lakes Council) and Girl Scouts of America (Northwestern Great Lakes).
