Sharon Marie Neveau

Oshkosh

Sharon “Chickie” Neveau, 83, of Oshkosh, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

She was born January 23, 1943, in Powers, Michigan, to Lawrence and Gladys Murray. Sharon grew up in Powers and graduated from Powers-Spaulding High School. She was married to Ray Neveau, the love of her life, for 60 years.

Chickie displayed an unconditional love for family that was evident in the way she supported and cared for her sons. From an early age, Brian and Greg were at her side as she instilled in them important life lessons: that family comes first, that faith in God provides strength, and that anything is possible when you work hard and are willing to try. She supported Ray and her sons wholeheartedly in every pursuit and always believed in them. Chickie had a gift for making others feel valued and loved. Her warm hugs, gentle kisses, and kindness marked every moment together—something her family and friends experienced even during her final week in the hospital.

Early in her married life, she worked for the telephone company. Later she and Ray managed the family apartments. In addition to her strong devotion to family, steadfast friendships created an extended family with many lifelong friends that has grown through generations. Chickie always made time for meaningful conversations and a card game. Their home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stop by, stay, or live for a time.

Chickie is survived by her sons, Brian (Meghan) and Greg (Deb); grandchildren Nathan (Ashlyn), Erin (Josh Hassman), Luke (Nicole), Lauren (Jacob Derenne), and Libby; great-grandchildren Nora, Adeline, Audrey, Liam, Russell, and Charlie; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her brother Lawrence (Joan); and her sister Lois (Bob Whitens).

Chickie’s final resting place is Lake View Memorial Park. Though we will miss her dearly, we take comfort in the hope of an eternal reunion when the Lord Jesus gathers all His saints into His heavenly kingdom.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Raphael’s Church, 830 S Westhaven Dr, Oshkosh, WI 54904 on Monday, August 24, with visitation from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship in Ray and Sharon’s name has been established with the Oshkosh Foundation, donations can be made at https://www.neveau.net/scholarship.

The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care Chickie received from the staff at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.
