Mrs. Sheila Mae (Wendt) Miller, 86, of Van Dyne, died on May 20th. She was the daughter of the late Ruth and Harold Wendt, born October 5, 1937, in Oshkosh. She attended Oshkosh High School, worked as a U.S. Postal Worker for 25 years in both Oshkosh and Van Dyne post offices, from 1973 to 1998, respectively. She had been a church organist since 1966 and taught Sunday School for ten years. She is known for her musical ability in the area. Sheila was an avid bowler, having made the city team in both Fond du Lac and Oshkosh. She married Gerald Miller, son of Myron and Irene Miller, in 1953 at the Martin Luther Church parsonage. Their union has been blessed with 7 children, 18 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Their five surviving children are Gerald Jr. (Pam), Freedom; Richard (Molly), Oshkosh; Susan Lewis, Chesapeake, VA; Roger, Las Vegas, NV; and Cindy (Joe) Milgram, Pewaukee. She is further survived by her sister, Christine Prust, Oshkosh, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sheila was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald and Floyd, and sons, Ronald and Robert.
A funeral service for Sheila will be held at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church (1526 Algoma Blvd) on Friday, May 24, 2024, at noon. A time of visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service. A burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Park.
