Steven “Span” Spanbauer, age 62, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was born to the late Richard and Dolores (Seidl) Spanbauer on December 14, 1960, in Oshkosh. Steve attended and graduated from St Peter’s Grade School and later from Lourdes High School class of 1979.

Throughout his life, Steve enjoyed playing and watching sports of all kinds. He worked for 30 years for the State and enjoyed sharing fond memories of his work at Harra Bev. Steve also enjoyed spending time with family and friends; family gatherings on Saturday mornings, as well as seeing his friends at some of his favorite local establishments; most recently at Slade’s. Steve’s greatest pride was his children. Eighteen years ago, Steve met the love of his life, Kay, and they have been together ever since.

Steve is survived by his fiancé, Kay Beulen; children, Payton (Cody Portz) and Reid Spanbauer; Kay’s children, Jessica (Erik) Kamrath, Andrew Beulen, Alyssa (J.J.) Kinnery; his brother, Thomas (Lonni) Spanbauer; sisters, Patricia (Terry) Wesner and Susan Spanbauer; nieces and nephews: Lisa (Rick Nemecek) Spanbauer, Maggie (Matt) Earle, Jared (Kristin) Spanbauer; great-nephews and nieces, Joshua Nemecek, Lennon, and Oliver Spanbauer. Steve is further survived by Kay’s grandson, Roman Kamrath as well as Lucile Hoppe, Laura Tod, and Barbara Spanbauer.

In addition to his parents, Steve was greeted in heaven by his daughter, Rachel; brothers, Gerald, and Brian Spanbauer; as well as many other loved ones.
