Thomas J. Kaufmann, age 76 of Oshkosh, passed away at his residence on Thursday, August 12, 2021. He was born in Oshkosh on February 1, 1945 to the late Florien and Marion (Voight) Kaufmann. Thomas married Myrna Potratz July 3, 1965 and their marriage was blessed with six children.
Thomas worked 18 years at both the Universal foundry and Bemis. He also established and built a small family farm.
He enjoyed serving on the mission field, carpentry, hunting, farming, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family. Thomas accepted Christ as his personal savior, resides in heaven today and was a member of Wyldewood Baptist Church.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Myrna Kaufmann; children: Jeffery (Jennifer) Kaufmann, Jennifer (Brady) Harrington, Angela (Nathan) Foster, Amy (Jeremey Wolff) Dawson, Jonathan (Lindsey) Kaufmann, and Calvin Kaufmann; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers: Gary (Linda) and Richard Kaufmann; sister-in-law: Carol Kaufmann and many other extended family and precious friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, J. Fred Swanson, and his brother, David Kaufmann.
A visitation will take place at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Another visitation will take place at Wyldewood Baptist Church, 3030 Witzel Ave. on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow officiated by Rev. Jason Brenenstuhl, Rev. Randall King, and Rev. Jim Pfaffenroth. Interment will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Nekimi.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials to Wings as Eagles Flight Camp Scholarship Fund are suggested.
