Thomas N. Schiessl

August 6, 1935 — August 1, 2025

Thomas N. Schiessl (Tom) passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on August 1, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was just five days shy of his 90" birthday. Tom was born August 6,1935 in Oshkosh to the late William and Eleanor (Polakowski) Schiessl.

 After graduating high school, To served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1960. He then attended Fox Valley Technical College and obtained his Journeyman Electrician card. Tom was employed as an Electrician with Rockwell for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He was lucky enough to enjoy 30 years of retirement. Tom was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Oshkosh.

 On June 10, 1961, he married Carol Jean Noll and they enjoyed 64 years of marriage. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, and boating, and had many fun times with the Oshkosh Boat Club. He was a great shot when it came to pool and target shooting. Tom also loved trying his luck at the casino and taking long drives. He always had many interesting stories to share about pranks at work, hunting, and his younger years. He loved being a grandpa and was very devoted to his family. 

Tom is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Schiessl; daughters, Andra Schiessl and Kay (Robert) Gaab; grandson, Austin Gaab; sister, Karen Kuhr; nieces, Cheryl (Detlef) Summerfeldt and Rhonda (Michael) Griffin; and nephews, Tyler Noll and Jason (Tania) Kuhr. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Cynthia; brother, David Schiessl; sister-in-law, Shirley Gunther; brother-in-law, Wayne Noll, nieces, Pamela Albashian and Stephanie Noll; and nephew, James Kuhr: 

Visitation for Tom will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh, WI, with a memorial service to follow. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Hanes and the amazing nursing staff at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh for their compassion and excellent care of Tom, and also the Aurora hospice staff for all of your visits, care and compassion.

Dad: Thank you so much for being such an amazing, loving dad throughout our entire lives. Thank you for all of the fun times, advice, sharing your stories, and for always being there, day and night. Also, for the special gifts you would surprise us with out of the blue. We were so blessed to have you and will miss you every day. Love, Ann and Kay (Reno). 

Grandpa: I can't thank you enough for everything you have done for me. You were the best grandpa and friend I could've asked for. I will always remember the fun times we had together, especially playing pool, shooting at the range, watching war movies and going on drives where you told the stories of your Incredible life.
