William Hopkins

William J. "BJ" Hopkins, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Bob and Cindy (Pischke) Hopkins on March 26,1978, in Oshkosh, on Easter Sunday on his Grandfather Wilbur's birthday.

He graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1996 and entered the US Navy in June of that year. He served on the Aircraft Carriers USS Kitty Hawk and the USS Independence. He was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Navy Unit Commendation (2), Overseas Service Ribbon, Battle "E" Ribbon.

He served in the US Army from 2006-2011. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd award) National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/Campaign Star, Overseas Service Ribbon.

He drove cross country in a sleeper semi for 10 years until returning to Wisconsin to be near family.

BJ is survived by his parents, Bob and Cindy, brother Russ (Kris), Children, Grace, Breanna, Isabell, Joshua, Uncles Gary, Doug, Aunt Elisabeth (Bruce), Uncles Peter (Cynthia), Paul (Leanne), John (Wes), Tim (Cathy), many cousins and Veteran Friends.

BJ was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Wilbur and Betty Pischke, Edward and Phyllis Hopkins, Cousins Richie and Adam and Aunt Bonnie.

A memorial service for BJ will be held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-West (100 Lake Pointe Dr) on Wednesday September 10, 2025, at 1:30 PM. A time of visitation will be held from 11:30AM until the time of service ending with Military Honors. A burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
